Futurology is a course offered at Castle View High School designed to collide students with diverse interests and talents from the Biotechnology and Health Sciences, Leadership and Global Communications, Visual and Performing Arts, STEM, and Mosaic academies together in order to encourage new combinations of productive means. Together, they will analyze the world's biggest problems and synthesize solutions in new and innovative ways.
The world we live in is one of constant and rapid change and these problems are real and pressing. Futurology will confront these problems by using an interdisciplinary approach that empowers students to create and shape their futures. Our students will accomplish this through radical collaboration with their classmates, teachers, administrators, community, and experts. It is our hope to develop scrappy problem solvers by viewing the world through the lens of wonder, curiosity, and possibility.
Futurology is not just about teaching students about what they can do, but letting them do what they can do. We need thinkers, dreamers, and doers. We need them now. We want to make the world a better place and we believe our students do too.
